Privacy policy

yafla Inc. ("yafla", "we"), a Canadian corporation, builds software: our own products, and custom software for clients. This policy covers this website, yafla.com, and the email you send us: what we collect, why, who else sees it, and the choices you have.

Each of our products has its own privacy policy, on the product's own site, which says what that product collects and why. When you use a product, its policy is the one that applies to it. Information we handle for a client, as part of building software for them, is governed by our agreement with that client.

What we collect

• Nothing to browse. This site has no accounts and no forms. We use no advertising or analytics cookies, and no tracking scripts.
• Connection details. Like any website, the servers and network that deliver this site see your IP address, your browser's details and the pages you ask for. We use these only to run the site and protect it from abuse.
• Email you send us. If you write to [email protected] or [email protected], we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to tell us.

How we use it

To answer your messages and help with our products, to keep a record of our conversations, to run the site and keep it secure, and to meet our legal obligations. We don't sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share it beyond what this policy describes.

Who else sees it

• Our hosting and network providers, which run the servers and network this site uses.
• Our email provider, which carries and stores the email you send us.
• Authorities, if the law requires it.
• A buyer or successor, if yafla's business or assets are ever sold or merged. They would be bound by this policy for the information they receive.

Where it's kept

We and the companies above may store and process information in Canada, the United States and other countries, whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

How long we keep it

• Email: as long as we need it to help you and keep reasonable records of our conversations.
• Connection details: only as long as we need them to run and protect the site.

Your choices

• You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Write to [email protected], and we'll answer within 30 days.
• For information held by one of our products, see that product's privacy policy, or write to [email protected].
• Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your information, and you can complain to your privacy regulator. In Canada, that's the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

This site is served only over encrypted connections, and we limit who can get at the information we hold to the people who need it.

Children

This site isn't meant for children under 13. If you think a child has given us personal information, write to us and we'll delete it.

Changes

When we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters to how we use your information, we'll say so on this site first.
